Visiting Somers Baptist Church

Whether you’re a grizzled saint, a new-ish believer, or someone interested in exploring the Christian faith, we’re delighted that you’re interested in visiting us in rural Somers. Our church is one tiny part of the family of Christ united by His cross who gather on Sundays throughout the world – how exciting! If you’re a Christian believer who’s currently not a part of a church, a church like SBC is exactly what’s missing in your life, and we’d love to meet you and discover together what God might have in store for the both of us…together!

We hope that you will find us warm, welcoming, and prepared for visitors as we collectively approach God through singing and hearing God’s Word. Please be assured that when you visit for the first time we’ll do our best to strike the balance between showing ourselves friendly AND not smothering you (as Baptists have the tendency to!). You’ll get your hand shaken and then (largely) be left alone to take in things for yourself!

One more thing: we have fellowship time before and after each service. We welcome the opportunity to meet people, and, if you’re up to it, we’d encourage you to come early, stay late, and enjoy the gathering of people in God’s name.

SUNDAY SCHOOL - 9:30AM-10:15

During Sunday School, we meet in small group settings to study the Bible, applying lessons and instructions to our lives.

Children ages three and older learn through songs, stories, and crafts.
Teens meet to study books of the Bible and other biblical topics.
Adults meet for teaching on a variety of topics, from surveys through books of the Bible to topical studies involving various aspects of the Christian and church experience.

Nursery care is provided for children up to three years old.

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE - 10:30AM-(SEEMING INFINITY)*

After a short break, we meet as a congregation for worship in song, scripture readings, corporate prayer, and a message from our pastor. This service is at the heart of what we do as a church.

As you enter you’ll find ushers who stand ready to assist in any way necessary: from providing a Bible for you to use to pointing you in the direction of our facilities and the nursery.

Nursery care is provided for children up to three years old. The nursery is downstairs.

Bible studies with the pastor meet at various times and locations throughout the week.
